Samsung Tizen-based TVs have limited IPTV app support compared to Android TV. Here is a comprehensive guide on what actually works.

The main app that works well on Samsung TVs is Smart IPTV (SIPTV). It is stable and well-maintained.

Go to the Smart Hub, navigate to Apps, search for Smart IPTV and install it.

In Smart IPTV app, the MAC address is shown on the startup screen before the channels load.

Alternatively: Settings → General → Network → Network Status → IP Settings → MAC Address.

Once activated, upload your M3U file or configure the URL on the SIPTV website portal.

SIPTV supports M3U playlists and Xtream Codes. The interface is basic but functional.

For catch-up support on Samsung, try GSE Smart IPTV which is available on the Samsung App Store.

TiviMate only runs on Android TV. It does not work on Samsung Tizen. A common point of confusion.

The limitation of Samsung TVs is that the app ecosystem is restricted to the Tizen store.

For full IPTV app flexibility, connecting an Android TV stick or box is the recommended solution.

I use an Amazon Fire Stick plugged into my Samsung TV for IPTV and use the built-in TV for Netflix.

Hybrid approach makes sense. Samsung TV for official apps, external stick for IPTV flexibility.
