New to the forum — quick intro and first question

Hey everyone, just found this community through Google. Been streaming for about 2 years and just now figured out there are dedicated forums for this. My main question: is wired Ethernet always better or does modern Wi-Fi 6E come close?

Welcome! Great community here. To answer your question: Ethernet wins on reliability, Wi-Fi 6E wins on convenience. For 4K streaming, either works.

Wi-Fi 6E is honestly excellent for streaming if your router is nearby. I switched back from Ethernet and notice no difference.

Distance matters a lot. Close to router: Wi-Fi 6E is fine. Far away or lots of walls: run a cable.
