Updated my MAG firmware and now it is stuck on the loading screen. The portal cannot load and the device does not respond to normal navigation. Before sending it for repair, tried recovery steps that worked.
Infomir logo stuck with no progress bar movement usually means the firmware flash was incomplete. The device is trying to boot from a partially written firmware.
Recovery procedure for stuck boot after firmware update:
1. Power off the MAG completely.
2. Prepare a USB flash drive formatted as FAT32.
3. Download the SAME firmware version (or the last working version) from infomir.eu for your exact model.
4. Place the firmware file in the root of the USB drive.
5. Insert the USB while the MAG is powered off.
6. Power on while holding the reset button (small hole on back).
7. The MAG should enter recovery mode and reflash from USB.
Some MAG models use a different recovery trigger. On certain models, holding OK on the remote during power-on enters recovery mode. Check the Infomir documentation for your specific model.
I recovered my MAG 256 using the USB method after a failed update. The process worked but took three attempts to get right — the USB had to be FAT32 and the file had to be in the root, not a folder.
RECOVERED. USB method worked on the third attempt. Had the file in a folder the first two times — moved to root and it flashed correctly. All settings re-entered and working perfectly.
