Kodi 17 was a significant release for IPTV users. This thread collects community reactions from early 2017.

Kodi 17 Krypton launched in February 2017 and was the biggest visual redesign in years.

The new Estuary and Estuary MOD skins changed the whole look and feel.

The PVR (Personal Video Recorder) backend interface was overhauled and became much more usable.

EPG handling improved significantly — multi-source EPG merging worked more reliably.

Split response. Some loved the cleaner modern look. Long-time users missed the old Confluence skin.

The live TV integration became first-class in Kodi 17 rather than feeling like an add-on.

Many users immediately installed a Confluence port for Kodi 17 to restore the familiar look.

I switched from a dedicated media server setup to Kodi-only in 2017. Never looked back.

TVHeadend backend with Kodi 17 was extremely capable for a fully self-hosted IPTV solution.

Yes, Kodi 17 added an official Android TV interface. Before that the Android TV experience was awkward.
