Customizing the MAG portal interface — what can you actually change?

I see other users with MAG portals that look different from mine — different layout, different categories displayed. What can users actually customize versus what requires provider-side changes?

Good question. MAG portal appearance is largely controlled by the portal template set by the provider. Users have limited but useful customization options.

User-accessible settings include: language, time zone, time format, display resolution, and some interface scaling options.

No. The visual template (colors, logo, layout) is defined by the provider on their portal server. Users cannot change these elements from the device side.

Favorites customization is user-controlled and very useful. You can build a personalized favorites list regardless of the provider's default category structure.

Category order is set server-side by the provider. The only user workaround is to build a Favorites list that contains only the channels you want in the order you prefer.

Some portals support custom channel grouping where users can create their own category folders. This depends entirely on whether the provider's portal supports that feature.

EPG layout is also portal-controlled. Users can typically adjust the EPG time span displayed (3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours) if the portal allows it.

The MAG interface is intentionally simple compared to app-based players like TiviMate. The simplicity is a feature for non-technical users, not a limitation.

Understanding what is user-side versus provider-side saves a lot of time. Many users try to change things on the device that are actually on the portal server.
