Trying to set up IBO Player and my provider says my device ID is not recognised. They asked for a device ID but I am not sure where to find it in IBO Player, and when I send the one I found the provider says it is wrong. How does IBO Player device ID activation work?

IBO Player uses a "Device ID" (or "Device Key" in some versions) for activation rather than a username and password. Here is where to find it:\n\n1. Open IBO Player\n2. On the main screen or login screen, look for "Device ID" — it is displayed prominently, usually a 12–16 character alphanumeric code\n3. It may also be under Settings → Account or Settings → Device\n\nCopy this exactly and send it to your provider. They will link it to your subscription in their panel.

Important: do not confuse the "Device ID" in IBO Player with the device's MAC address or Android ID. IBO Player generates its own unique device identifier. These are different. When your provider asks for your IBO Player Device ID, they want the code shown in the IBO Player app specifically.

UK user — I had the "wrong device ID" issue because I was sending the device's IMEI (phone) instead of the IBO Player Device ID shown in the app. The IBO Player ID is always shown in the app — look carefully through the login/activation screen. It will say "Device ID:" or "Enter your Device ID below:".

Ireland — one common confusion: IBO Player has different versions. The device ID location changed between versions. If you cannot find it in the obvious location, go to Settings → About or Settings → Activation. Some versions show it only on the activation/welcome screen before you log in.

Canada — if you have recently reinstalled IBO Player, the Device ID may have changed. IBO Player generates a new Device ID on fresh installation on some platforms. If you have reinstalled, you need to send the new Device ID to your provider for re-activation.

On Android devices specifically: if you clear IBO Player's data (not just cache) and reinstall, the Device ID regenerates. Send the new Device ID to your provider and ask them to transfer the activation. Most providers do this free of charge for existing subscribers.

Australia — for IBO Player on Apple TV: the Device ID is shown on the initial launch screen under the logo. It is displayed as a large code you cannot miss. Note it down on a piece of paper before navigating away from this screen to avoid having to go back for it.

New Zealand — once activated, the activation is stored server-side. You do not need to re-enter anything each time you open the app — it checks the Device ID automatically on launch. If the app shows "Not Activated" on subsequent launches, it means the Device ID check failed — usually due to a network issue preventing the activation server from being reached.
