Canada — if the remote is fine but the MAG is slow to respond to button presses (lag of 1–2 seconds between press and action): this is a MAG processing issue, not a remote issue. The portal UI is running slowly. A firmware update or portal cache clear may help.

UK user — 80% of my post-update TiviMate issues have been resolved by the two steps above (restart + clear cache). The app was crashing because the old cache files were incompatible with the new version. Fresh cache resolves it immediately.

Good point about HEVC. Most modern 4K IPTV streams use H.265 encoding for efficiency. If your box only has hardware decode for H.264, it will CPU-decode the H.265 4K streams instead. Under load, this heats up the processor and causes thermal throttling. Result: smooth at first, then buffers...
